Hi Guys..
I've been having discussions about UT4 Aussie Tournaments and the path ahead; what's going to work, what wont?
Firstly we are about to start a week long tournament to see how things pan out. If all players are able to work in times for matches in this time; with around 8 people, that is fantastic! and if not, it may need to be month long in the future. Either way at this time the tournament can be stretched out if need be..
Secondly, I want to discuss particularly, what maps you guys would want to see played, and also, what suggestions or concerns do you have about upcoming tournaments!? I'd love to see some feedback.

This is the map pool for the eu esl, it's a good starting point.. I vote we reduce the number of maps to 5 or 6, and include at least 2 new maps to level the field a bit. i vote to remove deck and protracted though. Possibly replace sempiternal with antiqus. Add DM-Edge. It's cool. New maps level the playing field. DM-ASDF (yes, the classic) DM-Coma DM-DeckTest (no, not noob friendly at all, remove to level field a bit) DM-Echo (no, not include, in favour of edge or pure) DM-Erase (yes) DM-Lea (no, in favor of a new map) DM-Protracted (remove, not been played a lot recently and not that unique) DM-Pure (yes new maps are good, evens playing field) DM-Sempiternal (replace with antiqus) DM-Solo (yes) so i suggest asdf solo coma pure (newish but no one knows) antiqus (newish but no one knows) edge (new) www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/forums/unreal-tournament-development/ut-development-level-design/work-in-progress/16751-dm-antiquusplay.eslgaming.com/unrealtournament/europe/ut/open/league/winter-2017-groupstage-europe/rules/

Agree on not having Deck as much as I like it for DM. Protracted only played once, but it watched it a few times on twitch and can understand why it's 4th most popular in Europe. Strange America doesn't like it. Hack suggests it's out of vogue - happy to take Hack's advice. Here's the number of times maps were chosen in ESL's events (but realise maps not shown couldn't be picked) So I think Erase, ASDF, Coma and Solo are solid choices.

What do you guys think about having Mercy Rule on? I'm in two minds - I think it's match over if one player leads by 8, right? I think I'd prefer to lose 22-2 than 8-0 - as 8-0 could happen within minutes with a bad spawn.
I'm just not sure if we can enable it other than in Rules.ini and we shouldn't bother Demo - it's nice enough we can use UTAUNZ. If we have to bother Demo anyway for timers off etc, it's about time I made another donation to UTAUNZ anyway.

Maybe erase instead of coma to keep the map pool small seeing as the comp is right around the corner and people mgiht want to focus on learning fewer community maps

Hi guys. I've been looking at what maps are currently cooked (since yesterday) and here is the list currently up on the ruleset:
Map list
Erase Solo ASDF Lea Coma Echo Edge
So we are currently sitting on 7 maps and I am thinking to remove Lea and make it 6 ?
For now we have to sit with the current lineup of maps as first tourney is now active
Although if we can make it 7 or 9 maps; an odd number; by the time each player eliminates 2 or 3 each; 3 maps are left.. instead of someone being able to eliminate more maps than the other.

I'm happy either way.
You just need to seed the players so we know who picks first, as this elimination/banning system relies on highest seed picking first.
I suggest just basing it on our Duel ELOs (Duel MMR in Player Stats) and listing them in the rules if the tourney software doesn't do it.
These are what I can see
Sickz - 1965 Rock - 1696 Hack - 1643 Tok - 1640 Greenman - 1422 Puppy - 1298
but maybe Rock/Hack/Tok need adjustment based on recent form?
GnrlSpecific - I can't find Gnrls - are you reading Gnrl? Or anyone have Gnrl in their friends list who can look up his player stats?

Im thinking to take off both edge and coma or leave them both on.. what you guys think?.. ldk might be able to replace either edge or coma is another option.. i kinda like edge myself. But not coma.. but since we have new players anyway its probably best to keep map count to 5. Thoughts? :-)
